The concept of social skills is widely misunderstood. We need to let go of teaching turn-taking, sharing, and even perspective taking. The goal is to develop the executive function areas that are most important to figuring out how to manage social situations. That's a major reason neurodivergent kids struggle with the intricacies of peer interactions.

It's so hard to determine what someone else has in mind, especially when conversations move so quickly. The task of keeping up with language demands is also linked to our emotions and the ability to regulate. This Masterclass will outline the foundations of social relationships and how you can begin seeing your child's perspective first.
